Rihanna ‘closes’ Met Ball red carpet in bright yellow gown

Pop singer Rihanna, now 27, most certainly looked like real royalty as she came at Chinese-themed Met Ball Gala bash that took place in New York on Monday evening.
The Bajan-lasy literally ‘closed’ the red carpet for others when came in a huge yellow gown – designed by Chinese couture designer Guo Pei. It left no space for others. The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute had spread out the carpet for the who’s who of fashion world, but the singer really took up a great space.

The huge creation sported by Rihanna featured a fur-trimmed yellow cape along with floral swirls of gold as well as a train so long it needed three wranglers. Under the dress was a tiny pink colored mini-dress as well as a tiara on her head.

Shimmery gold and deep reds have dominated as the masses of invited celebs embraced the inspiration this year: the great Met exhibition China: Through the Looking Glass, a grand look at fashion from East through ages.

As Rihanna walked with the gown, you could literally listen to the Internet memes being made at that time. Certainly, the star just was not afraid trying out with her red carpet looks, and this is arguably her boldest red carpet appearance yet.

Recently, Rihanna came with her very first commercial for Puma after her appointment to creative director of the brand. Puma posted a picture of her in their gear with the caption: ‘An icon who does it all needs a shoe that can keep up. Introducing the Pulse XT, worn by @badgalriri. #ForeverFaster.’
